Right Start, Inc. is an Early Intervention agency and Autism Spectrum Disorder/ABA services provider that was founded in 2002 to provide therapeutic services to children with developmental concerns.

Today, with hundreds of team members, Right Start, Inc. is one of the leading Early Intervention agencies and autism/ABA services providers in New York City. Our highly trained staff are dedicated to helping children and their parents cope with the challenges faced by a developmental diagnosis.

OUR EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM

Right Start, Inc. provides home and community based Early Intervention services for infants and toddlers from birth until the age of three who have a developmental delay and/or disability. We are a multicultural agency that delivers Early Intervention services with linguistic diversity and cultural sensitivity. The diversity of New York City is reflective in our multi-cultural, multi-lingual qualified and caring staff. All professional staff members are New York State Licensed and /or Certified, in accordance with all rules and regulations pertaining to their given specialty.

All Early Intervention services are provided at NO OUT-OF-POCKET COST to the family however, your child’s insurance may be accessed for reimbursement. Early Intervention services provided by Right Start, Inc. consist of service coordination, evaluations, and therapeutic services.

Therapeutic services include:

  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Special Education
  • Speech/Language and Feeding Services
  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Assistive Technology devices and services
  • Family Training/Counseling
  • Social Work Services
  • Medical Services (only for evaluation purposes)

    Eligibility for Early Intervention Program can be determined only by state-approved evaluators under contract. All necessary Early Intervention services for eligible children are identified in collaboration with the parent and must be authorized by the NYC Early Intervention Official. The Service Coordinator will coordinate and arrange for service providers, considering the individual needs of the child and family, as authorized by the NYC Early Intervention Official.

    We view Early Intervention supports and services as a first step on a long productive journey for each child, family, and provider.

    HOW TO START

    If you are concerned about your child’s development, you can make a referral to the Early Intervention Program. Professionals such as doctors may also refer your child, upon discussion with the family.

    Infants and toddlers who live in New York City, from birth until three years old, that have a diagnosed physical or mental condition that is likely to result in a developmental delay or are suspected of having a developmental delay or disability will receive an evaluation to find out if they are eligible for the Early Intervention Program. Children must be eligible in order to receive services.

     

    THE REFERRAL PROCESS

    Any parent/guardian, professional or concerned individual who suspects that a child, from birth to 3 years old meets the criteria for the program can call 311 and ask for Early Intervention. You can ask for Right Start, Inc. to be assigned to provide ongoing service coordination and evaluation for your child.
